Specsavers Woking Support Us
We are excited to announce that we are now supported by Specsavers Woking. The popular opticians and audiologists, located in Wolsey Walk, Woking are now funding our scooter batteries and gifting our clients with generous discount on glasses.

Woking Shopmobility 30th Birthday

On 21st April 2022, Woking Shopmobility celebrated our 30 year anniversary. We held a party at the office which included staff, trustees, volunteers and a few longstanding clients. The Woking Mayor attended; including cutting the celebratory cake. The MP, Jonathan Lord, also attended as we are a charity close to his heart, and he is a big supporter. It was a lovely event, and showcased the incredible efforts made by our Vice Chairman, Anne Ansell, who set up the charity whilst in post as Woking Mayor.

Woking Rotary Lunch & Presentation

On 9th March 2020 Woking Rotary hosted a lunch and presentation at Hoebridge Golf Club in aid of the 7 charities who were all beneficiaries of the sponsorship raised by the Swimathon event held in October 2019.
Woking Shopmobility were presented with a cheque for £1500 which we were delighted to receive.

Woking Town Centre Paintings

During a recent clear out of the storage cupboard at the back of our car park, we discovered 33 paintings that had been stored away (probably for years).
​
The artist is Dennis Chinnery who enjoyed painting as a hobby, and painted these for Woking Shopmobility in honour of his wife, Dawn, who was a volunteer for the charity up until she died.
​
After selling some to interested clients, we decided to advertise the remaining paintings on social media; posting to a local community page - we were completely overwhelmed by the response and interest we received! All the paintings sold within a matter of hours, and we received generous donations totalling over £200. All proceeds going towards Woking Shopmobility.

Charity Quiz Night
​
We held our Annual Quiz Night on Saturday 30th March 2019 at Goldsworth Park Community Association Hall.
Twelve teams took part in the Friends Quiz Night. Congratulations to Pussy Galore, the winning team.
It was a fun event which raised a magnificent £812.00!
